DECORATIVE (VENETIAN) PLASTER & STONEWORK.
By combining my Plastering & Decorative Painting skills, I have developed and perfected my own unique Decorative Plaster finish. It is similar in style to Venetian Plaster, but as I use common plaster and paint glazes, it is far more cost effective and versatile than Venetian Plaster. The finish is completely waterproof, and is ideal for kitchens, bathrooms or stunning contemporary feature walls and rooms, and can be rendered in any colour or style to suit customer preference, where a truly bespoke, one of a kind finish is desired. This finish is entirely unique and exclusive to Stewart McDonald Decorating. Along with these projects shown below, I have also included some of the Natural Stone Finishes I have carried out for my clients over the years.

Decorative plaster, feature wall. STEP by STEP. Plaster is applied, & textured.
For this project, my customer chose a grey tone and horizontal pattern for this feature wall, but any bespoke scheme can be chosen. The dried plaster is now scraped smooth.
It is now sanded ultra smooth, with a dust extraction system, giving a completely dust free environment.
Base coat is now applied.

A darker glaze is now mixed and applied, allowed to dry, then lightly sanded to produce 3 tones of colour and depth.
A matt, waterproof sealer is then applied.
